How Shore Entry is written and checked, what it will not publish, and how corrections are handled.
Service page · Edition of
Shore Entry publishes one kind of page: an entry that answers a single question about diving, reef life or the dry-land half of a dive trip. Everything is written by the desk and checked against sources a reader can obtain.
Sourcing
Standards and student manuals from the training agencies, diving medicine literature, marine park and fisheries publications, field guides and species checklists, and published marine forecasts. Each entry lists the sources it actually read. Where the sources disagree, the entry says so.
What is not published
Reviews of named dive centres, price lists, sponsored entries, paid links, guest posts, and anything that was written to sell something. The site carries no advertising and no affiliate link. A link to another publication is placed only when it answers a question this entry raises, and it is never sold.
Corrections and dates
Every entry carries the date it was last checked. A correction that changes what a reader would do is published the same week, with the checked date updated. Factual claims that no source supports are removed rather than softened.
Independence
The domain name is an address, not a brand, and it does not appear in the signature of an entry. No agency, park, resort or manufacturer has any say in what this desk publishes, and none of them pays for coverage.
